Absidon Games
History
Absidon Games started as a project management site for keeping track of the addition game development projects. Whereas Mecha Asylum was easy to track, once Heat of the Race was prototyped, it became clear that another site to keep the links was needed. Recently, plans have been developed to finally make Absidon Games dynamic and incorporate quite a few tracking and document management features.
Absidon Games is only going to be used for listing game projects and DragonU will be used for all other projects. This separation is to keep some sanity between the sites complexity and mostly since I don’t do many other projects besides browser game development.
Timeline
Absidon Games is currently a low traffic site (mostly due to most of the game projects still under development) and it isn’t important to have it done as soon as possible. I do want to have a working version of the all of the features done by the end of 2007.
Absidon Games site will be packaged as a project manager and will be downloadable from this site. The project manager will incorporate a lot of various modules and packages from other sources, so various degrees of customizablity needs to be considered. The project manager, when completed, will be used on this site and some of the features will be used to manage the current and new projects as well.
Features
- Bug Tracker
- Wiki or Document Management with revision support.
- Frequently Asked Questions
- Comments Everywhere (except main page)
- Forum
These features should really cover a great deal for feature management, until other requirements come up. These features will also take a great deal of time, so once they are finalized, a preview should be availalbe at least to download.
